Covid-19 Travel rules
To ensure a care free holiday we have written everything you need to know before traveling to the Canary Islands, depending on where you are traveling from and your choice of accommodation when visiting the Canary Islands.
1. Who can visit the Canary Islands?
You can visit the Canary Islands provided you travel from the European Union, from a country in the Schengen area or from a third country with which Spain has reciprocal agreements regarding the acceptance of travellers. These are UK, Australia, China, South Korea, New Zealand, Rwanda, Thailand, and Singapore.
When planning your return, we always recommend that you check the requirements and recommendations of your country of origin.
2. Are there any special procedures to complete before travelling to Canaries? ¿And at the airport?
Everyone who comes on holiday to the Canary Islands must go through a health inspection. This inspection varies depending on your exact circumstances.
If you travel from a high risk area outside Spain:
If you travel from a medium or low risk area outside Spain:
If you travel from another autonomous community within Spain:
Movement between the islands
Movement between the islands is fully reinstated at the moment, with daily connections that allow you to easily get from one island to any other, either by plane or by boat. You can travel between the islands with airlines Binter and Canaryfly or shipping lines Fred Olsen, Armas, Biosfera Express and Lineas Romero.
3. Conditions of access to official tourist accommodation
Users must have one of the following requirements:

The following are excluded:
a)Children under 6 years
b)People who can prove they are a resident of Canaries and make a responsible declaration that you have not left Canary Islands during the 15 days before you arrive at the accommodation and have not experienced symptoms suggestive of COVID-19 during that period
c) People, regardless of their place of residence, who prove that they have been outside the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands for a period of less than 72 hours prior to arrival, having remained in their territory for the 15 days prior to the aforementioned shorter period of absence. 72 hours, and also declare under their responsibility that in that period they have not had symptoms compatible with COVID-19
In any case, it is extremely important you check your operator or airline's conditions before traveling to Canary Islands.

What test documentation is required?
If you are traveling from a risk área from outside Spain:The tests that are allowed are PCR (RT-PCR for COVID-19),Transcription Mediated Amplification (TMA) and RT-LAMP (Reverse Transcriptase Loop-Mediated Isothermal Amplification).
In all other cases: antigen tests that detect SARS-COV-2 antigens with an accuracy of 97% and a sensitivity of over 80% as defined in their supporting documentation.
The test must come with a printed or digital certificate that contains the following information: name, surnames and ID number of the person tested, name of the health organisation or authority that does the test, contact details of the medical centre, brand and health authorisation of the test, date and time of the test, and the test result. In the case of antigen tests, the certificate must include the accuracy and sensitivity of the test. It is preferable if the test certificate is in English or Spanish.

- PCR, RT-LAMP or TMA test taken 48 hours prior to arrival in the Canary Islands with negative result

- Health check on arrival at the airport consisting of a temperature check (fever defined as a body temperature of 37.5ºC or higher) and a visual check for the absence of symptoms
- There are special conditions for acces to official tourist accommodation (see point 3)
If you travel from a medium or low risk area outside Spain:

- Health check on arrival at the airport consisting of a temperature check (fever defined as a body temperature of 37.5ºC or higher) and a visual check for the absence of symptoms

If you travel from another autonomous community within Spain:

- The test that are allowed are PCR (RT-PCR for COVID-19), Transcription Mediated Amplification (TMA), and Antigen tests that detect SARS-COV-2 antigens with an accuracy of 97% and a sensitivity of over 80% as defined in their supporting documentation
- There are special conditions for acces to official tourist accommodation (see point 3)
Movement between the islands
Movement between the islands is fully reinstated at the moment, with daily connections that allow you to easily get from one island to any other, either by plane or by boat. - There are no ristrictions on entering and leaving between islands
- There are special conditions for acces to official tourist accommodation (see point 3)
3. Conditions of access to official tourist accommodation
Users must have one of the following requirements:
- Test negative for active COVID-19 infection in the 72 hours prior to arrival in the Canary Islands. The test that are allowed are PCR (RT-PCR for COVID-19), Transcription Mediated Amplification (TMA), and Antigen tests
- Have an official accredited document that shows that you have been fully vaccinated in the eight months prior to your trip or have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine authorized by the European medicines Agency (EMA) within the past four months and at least 15 days prior to your trip
- You can prove with an official medical certificate or public document that you have had and recovered from the disease within the past 6 months

- Can prove that you have been outside the Canary Islands for less than 72 hours prior to your arrival, regardless of your place of residence
- Have an official accredited document that shows that you have been fully vaccinated in the eight months prior to your trip or have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine authorized by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) within the past four months and at least 15 days prior to your trip. The offical accredited document of vaccination must state the vaccine received, the number of doses and the date on which each dose was inoculated
- Can prove with an offical medical certificate or public document that you have had and recovered from the disease within the past 6 months
